One license purchase covers everyone in your company — all employees and contractors. There's no per-seat limitation for direct purchases. This is simpler and more cost-effective than per-seat models.
Tiers are based on your company's gross annual revenue, not your product's revenue. If your company makes less than $100K/year, you're Indie. Between $100K and $1M, you're Studio. Over $1M, you're Enterprise. Solo developers and small teams typically fall under Indie.
The Asset Store uses per-seat licensing (one license per developer). Direct purchases use per-company licensing (one purchase covers your entire team). For teams of 2+ developers, buying directly is usually more cost-effective.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for direct purchases, no questions asked. Simply email us and we'll process the refund through Paddle. Asset Store purchases follow Unity's refund policy.
Yes. The free version (UniText 1.0.0) lets you explore the core text engine — HarfBuzz shaping, Unicode BiDi, line breaking, and more. However, v2.0 is a major rewrite with a different architecture (SDF/MSDF rendering, variable fonts, effects, world-space text, font compression, and more), so migrating from 1.0 to 2.0 requires integration work. Think of them as related but distinct products. We recommend evaluating v1.0.0 for core text capabilities, and purchasing a license when you need production-grade features.
Yes. UniText's source code is publicly available on GitHub. Both free and commercial users have full access to the source. The license determines whether you can use it commercially.
Prices are automatically adjusted based on your location. In regions where tax is required (such as EU VAT), it is included in the displayed price. Paddle, our payment provider, handles all tax calculation and compliance.
